The 5 Best Wedding Venues in Fort Worth

At Least 5 of My Favorite

Venues in Fort Worth are incredibly full of character and life and I am so blessed to get to be a wedding photographer in this wonderful city.

As Spring quickly approaches and the wedding season begins in full swing  I thought it might be fun to list off 5 of my favorite wedding venues in Fort Worth. In 2016 I had the privilege of photographing weddings all over DFW and really came to love a handful of places. I look forward to the chance of photographing in quite a few new places in 2017 and for a chance to grow this list! In fact, check out my weddings photographer’s Fort Worth wedding venue bucket list >>HERE<<.

Fort Worth Botanic Gardens

What makes it great?

  • Beauty! Not only is it gorgeous in the Spring, but it is so massive that there are parts of the gardens that look incredible year round.
  • Variety is key! With multiple gardens and multiple way to use all of those gardens the combinations and possibilities are endless.

What is worth considering?

  • Lack of indoor space. These are a series of gardens so there isn’t a backup plan worthy of being equal to the wedding you plan outside. In the chance of less than ideal weather you may get stuck in a place you didn’t want to be.
  • Open to the public. There are definitely some little gems hidden away in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, however there is always a chance of strangers crashing your wedding.

The Orchard {Azle}

What makes it great?

  • Both indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception locations are available making it weather proof!
  • The land this venue sits on is set back from the highway so it feels secluded and simply yummy.
  • You can book a room here so it’s gret for out of town guests who don’t want to drive anywhere or for your wedding night!

What is worth considering?

  • While the outdoor ceremony space is lovely, if you are planning in the hotter months, I suggest using the indoor space.

Fort Worth Mopac Event Center

What makes it great?

  • Great vibe! Beautiful option for an indoor or outdoor ceremony and reception. This location boasts greenery and a rad brick interior.
  • Kick ass stage for a live band! Looking to ramp up your reception a bit? Hire a live band and put them on a stage as magnificent as this.
  • Also takes care of a whole host of amenities.

What is worth considering?

  • Parking isn’t exactly fun and requires you to pay for a valet service.
  • You have to like that funky, industrial vibe.

Thistle Hill

What makes it great?

  • There is nothing else like it in Fort Worth. This historic home is full of old air and sophistication.
  • Incredible grounds and decor make extra decorations meaningless. Simple is key and that saves money.
  • Most venues are required to make you hire a security guard if you serve alcohol Thistle Hill is considered private property so you don’t have that extra expense here.

What is worth considering?

  • You cannot dance on the floors. Being a historic home the preservation of it is most important. There are plenty of places to dance outdoors though.

Which Brings us to one of  the wedding venues in Fort Worth that I am most thrilled to get to photograph at….

Weston Gardens

What makes it great?

  • It’s like your own personal secret garden! Everything about this place screams magic and wonder.
  • There are a lot of fun options for set ups, the bridal suites are funky and different, and the grounds are spacious without seeming too big and impersonal.

What is worth considering?

  • This is another outdoor venue with little to no option for rain.
  • It can be a little confusing to find if you have never been there before.

In Fact, I am really excited to get a recent shoot at Weston Gardens featured on Simply Elope coming up soon. So check out the full Gallery >>HERE<< Of course I could not have pulled it off without the amazing…

Table and Chairs: Gold Dust Vintage Rental

Cake: Sweet Things Bakery  DFW

Veil : Pence and Panache

Hair + Makeup : RosB Beauty

BONUS VENUE: ** mostly because I nearly forgot about it and I am really upset about that because it is seriously one of my favorite wedding venues in Fort Worth!

The Marty Leonard Chapel

What makes it great?

  • On a hill top, secluded but right next to Central Market!
  • Simple, beautiful architecture, and so peaceful

What is worth considering?

  • It is on the smaller side so it may not be the right fit for a large wedding.
